(Updated 4/20/22)
Each state has its own state CME requirements to fulfill – some depend on the amount of CME you earn, others center more on your educational hours. It can be hard to keep track. Ohio requires a lot of CME credits, as well as mandating that you split your credits between designated subjects. And trying to keep track of all these requirements may be tedious for you.
For your convenience, we at GIBLIB have curated your state CME required topics and credits in one blog. Now, you can fulfill some of your CME needs in one place. Review your requirements and watch videos linked below that will fulfill them. Use our easy-to-access resource to make fulfilling your requirements less of a chore.
For both Ohio MD and DO physicians, you’ll need to fulfill the following:
- “100 hours every 2 years; 40 hours must be Category 1. Physician owner/operators of pain management clinics must complete at least twenty hours of category I continuing medical education in pain medicine every two years, to include one or more courses addressing the potential for addiction. The courses completed in compliance with this rule shall be accepted toward meeting the category I requirement for certificate of registration renewal for the physician. Effective May 31, 2021, MDs, DOs and DPMs are required to complete one hour of CME prior to renewal on the topic of a licensee’s duty to report misconduct. The enforcement of this requirement will commence with renewal applications submitted on or after July 1, 2021.” – FSMB
